Medical Office Assistant
Growing medical practice specializing in the care of injured workers is seeking an experienced, full-service medical office assistant. The ideal applicant is able to multi-task, keep in-depth notes, and complete tasks in a timely manner. Must be dependable, detail-orientated, and professional.
Preferred Qualifications:
· 2 years medical office experience
· Proficient in medical administrative support tasks such as scheduling, authorizations, and patient service
· Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures
· Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
· Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
· Proficiency in the use of office equipment, including phone/fax/copier and computer software (e.g., AdvancedMD, Microsoft Office, Adobe, Teams, Google Docs, Zoom, etc.)
· Familiar with L&I and workers comp paperwork and claim process
· Experience with authorizations through Comagine, Availity, Carelon, etc.
· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in completing tasks
Responsibilities:
· Greet and check-in patients
· Register and schedule patients using AdvancedMD software
· Answer phone calls and provide excellent customer service to patients and medical professionals in-person, on-line, and over the phone
· Assist with medical administrative tasks such as faxing, scanning, and uploading documents
· Coordinate referrals and obtain necessary authorizations for patient care
· Maintain cleanliness and organization of the office environment
· Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient operations
