Job Summary:
The Trucking Company Runner is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the business by running errands, purchasing necessary parts for trucks and trailers, and procuring office supplies as needed. Key Responsibilities:
- Procure parts and supplies for trucks and trailers from designated vendors or suppliers, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Conduct regular inventory checks to maintain adequate stock levels of essential parts and supplies, promptly replenishing items as needed.
- Coordinate with mechanics and maintenance staff to identify specific parts required for repairs and maintenance tasks, and procure them in a timely manner.
- Run errands for the company, such as delivering documents, picking up equipment, or obtaining necessary permits or licenses.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, expenses, and receipts, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to accounting procedures.
- Monitor and track orders to ensure timely delivery and resolve any discrepancies or issues that may arise during the procurement process.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining the company's inventory storage area, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and safety standards are upheld.
- Collaborate with the purchasing department to identify cost-effective sourcing options and negotiate favorable terms with suppliers.
- Handle administrative tasks related to purchasing, such as processing purchase orders, invoices, and vendor payments.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety regulations and guidelines, while performing job duties.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a logistics, transportation, or automotive industry.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate initiative in problem-solving and decision-making.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy objects as required.
