Optimum Technologies (OpTech) is seeking an ambitious, dedicated, and enthusiastic Production Planner. This is a full-time, on-site position at OpTech’s home office in Sterling, VA. The Planner/Purchasing Agent will coordinate the production workflow in support of Assembly, Integration, and Test (AIT) efforts to ensure the smooth and cost-efficient operation of our processes.
The Production Planner is responsible for ensuring required parts, materials, and documentation are available to support Program needs. The Production Planner will also assist with procurement, including obtaining quotes, issuing Purchase Requests for approval, and initiating Purchase Orders.
Essential Functions:
- Coordinate production workflow for multiple projects and multiple work centers.
- Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay.
- Collaborate with the Engineering Team to identify required parts and materials and initiate procurement efforts to ensure on-time delivery in support of AI&T.
- Support the tracking of purchases and especially of long-lead items.
- Produce part kits that are compliant with the latest revision of the related drawing and work instructions.
- Update part kit(s) as needed when Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) are issued.
- Collaborate with quality control, AI&T, engineering, configuration management and other staff to maintain a high-quality product.
- Support receiving, stocking, and kitting activities.
- Manage government and customer-furnished equipment.
- Support Program teams and management.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience) with 3 years of prior relevant experience.
- Proficient with MS Office.
- Experience with Fishbowl inventory management software (or equivalent).
- Adobe experience (generating/editing PDFs, managing approvals through Adobe Sign).
- Ability to learn new applications as required.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working experience with companies in the Aerospace and Defense field is a plus.
- Proficient with AIM inventory management software.
