Overview
An OPI Driver is the treatment team member who is responsible for providing transportation for all OPI participants and staff. Transportation is provided to and from the office/apartments and other appointments on their schedules. Duties are performed under the direct supervision of the Site Supervisor (Transportation Coordinator).
Pay ranges from $20-$21 per hour
Responsibilities

Responsibilities
- Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of participants in the program
- Provide transportation to participants and staff
- Operates a passenger van safely and efficiently
- Follows all California traffic laws
- Maintains cleanliness of all OPI vehicles inside and out
- Requests repairs immediately to direct Site Supervisor
- Reports accidents and/or other safety situations to direct Site Supervisor
- Inspect exterior of vehicle at beginning of every shift for any scratches, dents, or damage to vehicle prior operation
- Inspect interior of vehicle at beginning of every shift for any malfunctions, food, drinks, spills, etc.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with participants and staff
- Treat all participants and staff in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner
- Maintain boundaries and confidentiality
- Communicate with therapist and treatment team on a regular basis
- Provide transportation for airport pick-ups and drop offs
- Assist with carrying/moving luggage from airport, office, apartment, etc.
- Accurately and consistently record gas level, mileage, vehicle location in vehicle log
- Use de-escalation skills in managing crises (in accordance to OPI crisis procedures)
- Attend and participate in all required meetings and in-service training sessions in order to develop and maintain skills
- Medication pick up from pharmacy or any other location
- Perform other duties as requested by direct Site Supervisor
- Secure TB, First Aid and CPR certification in a timely manner
- Must be willing to get CPR/First Aid Certification
- High School diploma
- Experience in transportation of others
- Ability and willingness to demonstrate empathy and concern with a high risk population
- CA Driver's license and clean driving record
- Must pass TB test
- Willing to become CPR/First Aid Certified and get flu shot
- Familiarity with San Fernando Valley
- Interested in working with young adults 18-30 in a residential capacity
