News 12 is our award-winning, hyper local news stationcovering communities throughout Long Island, the Bronx, Brooklyn, Westchester, Hudson Valley, Connecticut and New Jersey. News 12 New York is our National streaming service for regional news, weather and News 12 originals.

News 12 is looking for a freelance Videographer to shoot and/or edit video for news programs, live coverage, breaking news and other productions and promotions for all news services.
- Work independently or as part of a team to create pictures and sound which accurately and fairly represent the news, recording raw video and audio and turning it into finished product.
- Drive news vehicles and/or live-transmission vehicles and operate production and transmission equipment.
- Maintain assigned equipment, including news vehicles, cameras, lights, editors and peripheral gear, initiating repairs when necessary.
- Associates degree in Broadcasting or Television Production preferred; Master's degree is a plus
- Minimum one year of experience in a television field production preferred
- Editing experience required
- Adobe Premiere experience preferred
- Understanding of camera operation (ENG cameras a plus) and photographic techniques
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Knowledge in current and emerging newscast technologies
- Basic knowledge of news operations and practices helpful
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Flexible schedule with ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license in good standing within the state of current residence

Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience. The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in the posted location is $43,427.00-$71,344.00/ year. The rate/range provided herein is the anticipated pay at the time of hire, and does not reflect future job opportunity.
