Senior Accounting Manager

This position plays a highly visible role within the accounting and finance organization, overseeing technical accounting, financial reporting, and the month-end close process. Reporting directly to executive finance leadership, the Senior Accounting Manager will help maintain a strong accounting infrastructure that can support a rapidly evolving and increasingly sophisticated business environment.

About the Role

The role is responsible for leading the close and reporting process to ensure timely, accurate, and well-supported financial information, while also managing and mentoring a team of accounting professionals. This individual will act as a key technical accounting resource for complex and non-routine transactions and help ensure reporting aligns with the expectations of ownership groups, lenders, and other stakeholders. Additionally, the position will focus on strengthening operational execution through process enhancements, internal controls, and scalable reporting practices, while partnering cross-functionally to improve overall financial reporting quality and consistency.

Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Audit Oversight

• Lead and coordinate external audit activities, including annual financial statement audits and other compliance-related audits
• Oversee preparation and review of financial reporting packages for leadership, ownership groups, and financing partners
• Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors, ensuring efficient communication, organization, and issue resolution
• Proactively identify reporting and documentation requirements to ensure audit readiness throughout the year

Technical Accounting & Transaction Support

• Provide guidance on US GAAP matters related to complex or non-standard transactions
• Lead accounting analysis for financing activities, ownership transactions, and business combinations
• Prepare and review technical accounting memos and supporting documentation for key accounting positions
• Collaborate with business partners to communicate accounting implications in a practical and understandable manner

Close Process Leadership & Team Management

• Oversee the monthly close process to ensure accurate, timely, and well-supported financial results
• Manage, mentor, and develop accounting staff through ongoing coaching, review, and performance feedback
• Establish accountability and consistency across reporting and close procedures
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reporting quality, and cross-functional coordination
• Partner with operational and finance teams to strengthen processes impacting financial reporting

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA designation required
• Combination of public accounting and industry accounting experience preferred
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and technical accounting concepts
• Experience leading external audits and preparing audit-support documentation
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing accounting teams
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical accounting topics clearly to various stakeholders
• Experience improving processes and helping build scalable accounting operations

• Background within a sponsor-backed, investor-backed, or fast-growth environment
• Experience supporting a business undergoing expansion, integration activity, or increasing operational complexity
