Description
The Pharmacy Technician ensures that the pharmacy operates safely and efficiently. Duties include: maintaining
patient records, preparing and processing prescriptions, answering telephone calls, communicating with patients,
payors, and healthcare providers, inventory management, shipping, and patient services. The Pharmacy Technician
must be accurate and meticulous to avoid possible errors and ensure safety. They must be able to work under
stressful conditions and communicate clearly and accurately.

Minimum Qualifications
A minimum of two (2) years of experience working as a pharmacy technician is preferred and licensure as a
Pharmacy Technician by the state of Michigan is required. Pharmacy Technicians need to be detailed-oriented and
have good verbal and written communication skills as well as customer service skills. Good computer skills and
insurance billing skills are required. The technician should be sociable, reliable, and able to work in a structured
environment. The Pharmacy Technician must be able to work efficiently and accurately, following detailed
instructions.
Work Environment
The Pharmacy Technician thrives in a fast-paced work environment. Sitting for prolonged periods of time at a desk
and perform work on a computer in an office environment. Light to moderate lifting may be required at times. Must
be able to spend most of the day standing, walking, or bending and lifting as required, if assigned the Inventory
