Job Description
In this role as a Quality/Reliability Engineer at optimal-staffing, you will be responsible for leading critical supplier processes to drive improvement in Supplier Quality Reject (QR) performance. This involves participating in quality reviews and assigned sub-system PRT meetings, driving resolution of external supplier process -3MIS and 0MIS warranty concerns.
You will support QR procedures by supporting concern binning, reviewing threshold QRs, and providing support for QR dispute resolution. Additionally, you will assist the Incoming Quality (IQ) department with non-responsive suppliers and assist suppliers and plants in QR/PPM data accuracy.
This position requires coordinating part quality confirmation process for suppliers with repetitive containment failure, leading containment of special-cause supplier process 3MIS and 0MIS BSAQ projects, and aligning with PRT on Supplier Process (SP) BSAQ issues for Glidepath values.
You will provide early notification to and engage the STA Site team on potential Stop Shipments related to supplier process (SP), provide support in containing supplier Stop Ship issues, and assist Site STA team with suspect material/Vehicles On-Hold and release process tracking.
Your responsibilities also include working with Stop Ship stakeholders to support accurate root cause for Prevent Action Closure (PAC) process reporting, monitoring daily production report (DPR), and providing notification to STA management for issues that require Site STA team awareness/intervention.
As a supplier representative and liaison between STA and manufacturing plant management, you will support Daily Plant Quality Meetings (PIC Room) to report on various metrics. You will utilize problem-solving skills, including 8D/FMEA, and travel to suppliers as required.
To be successful in this role, you should have a working knowledge of engine and transmission systems, with a minimum of 2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent is also required.
This is a fully onsite position requiring your physical presence at the work location.
