Position Description:
As a Production Process Coach, you will be a frontline leader responsible for the success of a specific production area. You are more than a supervisor; you are a mentor and a catalyst for continuous improvement. You will lead a team of hourly employees to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC) targets while fostering a culture of empowerment and accountability.
Your primary focus is to ensure the production process runs efficiently while coaching your team to solve problems and improve daily operations.
Safety: Ensure all team members follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment (5S).
Conduct regular safety audits and lead incident investigations.
Quality: Monitor production quality to ensure all products meet specifications. Implement corrective actions when defects occur and coach the team on "Quality at the Source" principles.
Delivery: Manage the daily production schedule to meet output targets. Coordinate with maintenance and logistics to minimize downtime and optimize throughput.
CoachingLeadership: Act as a primary mentor for hourly team members. Provide regular feedback, conduct performance reviews, and facilitate training to enhance team skills and versatility.
Continuous Improvement: Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives. Lead Kaizen events and encourage team members to identify and eliminate waste in the production process.
Labor Relations: Manage timekeeping, attendance, and overtime. Address employee concerns and grievances in accordance with company policy and/or collective bargaining agreements.
Problem Solving: Utilize data-driven methods (such as the 5-Why analysis or Fishbone diagrams) to identify root causes of production issues and implement sustainable solutions.
Experience Required:
Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization. Technical Aptitude: Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with production management software (e.g., SAP, MES). Flexibility: Ability to work various shifts, including nights and weekends, to support 24/7 manufacturing operations.
