Purpose
The overall goal of the Nursing Supervisor (RN) position is to oversee the nursing programs and home health care staff (employee and contractors) of the nursing services department. Sets and implements guidelines for home health clinical programs. The job will focus in providing supervisory support including field visits with staff, training, chart audits, staff competency reviews and performing visits. The other focus will be in assisting field staff with case review and patient oversight and coordination of care.
Scope & Objective
To oversee nursing programs, nursing services and nursing staff accountability. To provide high quality patient care to patients. To educate and train nursing staff (RN, LPN, CNA). To address care and nursing staff issues, establish performance improvements and initiate programs that can help the agency grow. To assure compliance as well as assist management with proper oversight of nursing services of the agency. To perform accurate and competent patient admissions and treatments. To evaluate nursing staff’s performance.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position manages RNs, LPNs, and CHHAs / CNAs. This position is responsible for performance management and assisting in the hiring of the employees within the department.
Qualifications
Education: Associate or higher degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Must complete at least 90 days of employment/contract with Optimal Home Care in the Home Health field or possess at least one (1) year of nursing experience with one (1) year preferably home care or a closely related service. Must hold a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing in the state of Colorado.
