Phlebotomist/Medical Assistant

Duties

• Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, and temperature to assist clinicians in diagnosing conditions
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, ensuring comfort and safety throughout their visit
• Order labs and draw blood
• Document patient encounters thoroughly using medical terminology and ICD coding standards for billing and record-keeping purposes
• Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control protocols

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant credential from an accredited program is required
• Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology essential for accurate patient assessment and documentation
• Experience operating EHR systems efficiently to document patient data and manage records
• Ability to perform clinical procedures such as vital signs collection
• Strong communication skills with a focus on patient service excellence in diverse populations
• Basic life support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications such as ACLS or PALS are a plus
