JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
The Field Service Engineer position supports one of the Optima Divisions in a service role pertinent to the operations of that division. Previous experience in maintenance and knowledge of Packaging equipment required.
1. Performs service and maintenance of OPTIMA equipment sold in the United States
2. Travels to customer sites to install, maintain, inspect and repair OPTIMA equipment
3. Installs, maintains, repairs both mechanical and electrical systems and components on OPTIMA machinery following blueprints, electrical codes, schematics, and manuals, both at customer sites and in-house, perform routine maintenance, provide production support and assist with format changes at customer sites
4. Creates drawings for format changes in CAD system.
5. Installs wiring and conduit and connects power supply to machine
6. Assists with in-house assembly and related activities
7. Communicates with Service Account Managers on project scope
8. Valid Driver’s License is required
9. Candidate must read & speak the English language

Work Environment
This job operates in a production environment of a customer site. Adhering to the safety measures of the customer’s plant and working both independently as well as a team effort.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
This is largely an active technical role whereby there may be times where the employee will be required to lift up to 50lbs.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, hourly position. The hours of work and days are typically Monday through Friday, but during customer trips – these hours/days may vary
Travel
The travel requirements (mostly domestic, international on occasion) for this position are approximately 70-80%.
Required Education and Experience
An Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year technical school in Mechanical Engineering and 5 years previous experience maintaining Packaging Equipment or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 2 years previous experience maintaining Packaging Equipment.
