What are the responsibilities and job description for the Procurement Specialist position at Optim LLC?
Job Summary:
Optim LLC is looking for a dynamic and responsible professional who will be accountable for purchasing in a manufacturing environment while providing administrative, customer service, and shipping assistance.
Core Responsibilities:
- Purchase of all goods and services in support of Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and general office.
- Work with Operations leadership to understand sales forecast and to identify production requirements.
Primary Duties:
- Assist in weekly production planning, ensure purchasing activities are in alignment with production plan and avoid stockouts.
- Maintain Kanban cards and ensure stock levels and reorder points are accurate.
- Identify cost reduction opportunities wherever possible, including sourcing alternative suppliers.
- Ensure proper documentation is created and retained in accordance with ISO 13485 procedures.
- Obtain supplier RFQ’s.
- Generate and place purchase orders for parts and supplies to support all departments.
- Manage and own purchase order fulfillment including, but not limited to: following up on open PO’s and expediting or delaying when necessary.
- Identify and resolve issues as they arise in these focus areas before they become significant.
Additional Job Requirements:
- Understand how materials and records flow through the operation from incoming receiving shipment to the customer.
- Able to interact with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Receiving, Accounting, and shop floor.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge and experience with the production workflow to supply parts and components to production in a timely fashion.
- Provide support to customer service, office, and shipping departments.

Education and Experience:
- 2 years of experience in purchasing in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient computer skills including intermediate Excel skills.
- Proven record of success in a dynamic, customer-focused environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or related field preferred.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
