Significant Responsibilities
Performs specific job responsibilities:
- Assemble, terminate, polish, and inspect fiber optic cable assemblies and harsh environment connectivity products according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality standards
- Prepare and route optical fibers and components using precision hand tools, microscopes, gauges, and specialized assembly equipment
- Read and interpret Bills of Material (BOMs), assembly drawings, manufacturing travelers, and process documentation
- Identify and correct cosmetic, dimensional, and functional discrepancies in components and completed assemblies
- Accurately complete production, inspection, and traceability documentation in accordance with quality procedures
- Maintain workmanship standards related to fiber handling, connector cleanliness, polishing quality, cable routing, and ESD/safety requirements
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to support troubleshooting and continuous improvement efforts
- Maintain productivity and quality standards while working independently with limited supervision following training
- Work overtime as needed to support production schedules and customer requirements

Essential Skills, Abilities, Knowledge And Experience
- Experience with fiber optic assembly, polishing, and termination processes preferred
- Experience working in a technical manufacturing or high-reliability production environment preferred
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality systems preferred
- Strong manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, and defect recognition skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and follow detailed work instructions
- Ability to use small hand tools and precision assembly equipment effectively
