What are the responsibilities and job description for the Permanent Lighting Installer (1099 Contractor) position at Optic Lighting LLC?
$20–26/hr to start, plus per-foot performance pay that lets a fast, clean installer earn well above the hourly rate.
Optic Exterior Lighting installs permanent roofline lighting (aluminum track along the eaves, app-controlled LED lights) on homes around Wilmington. The jobs are already sold. Before you arrive:
- every job is measured;
- the parts are kitted;
- any HOA approval is in hand;
- the homeowner has confirmed the date and signed a work order showing exactly which runs get installed.
About 40 hours a week of installs is available, year-round, Monday–Friday plus some Saturdays. You set your availability, and we fill it with installs. Work is available within days of your call.
Pay: $20–26 an hour to start, depending on experience. Once you're installing at full speed you move to per-job pay, priced per foot, with your hourly rate as the minimum. You're paid on the schedule you choose, even right after a job.
Learning the work: your first jobs are worked side by side with an experienced installer. Your start may include a paid training session at our Wilmington warehouse.
We supply everything: ladders, tools and all product. Your own tools are welcome.
This is independent-contractor (1099) work. You run your own small business, handle your own taxes, and you're free to take other work.
You need:
- a valid driver's license and reliable transportation;
- comfort on extension ladders at second-story height and on pitched roofs;
- a smartphone.
Good backgrounds: gutters, roofing, siding, painting, holiday lighting, low-voltage or security installs, pressure washing, window cleaning. No experience? Apply anyway.
Next step: apply on Indeed. We reply within one business day to set up a quick phone call.
