Our growing practice is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Optician to provide individualized attention to our patients to meet their specific eyewear needs. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, a sense of confidence, good problem-solving abilities, a desire to work as a team and a dedication to providing friendly, high-quality care to all patients and co-workers. In addition, this position will require the ability to multitask, as well as cross-train to aid in other roles as needed. We are a small practice that emphasizes the importance of working collaboratively with one another. We are looking for a candidate who is self-driven, reliable and eager to broaden their role within the practice.
Responsibilities:
- Provide high quality patient care, always leading with kindness; Read prescriptions, assist with frame selection, recommend lens products as prescribed by the doctor, and complete optical sales; Dispense and aid in the sale of contact lenses according to a prescription; Educate and train patients on their eyewear; Troubleshoot patients' vision/eyewear concerns competently; Have a strong understanding of various medical and vision insurance plans; Answer phone calls and schedule patient appointments as needed; Complete inventory; Ensure that the clinic is clean and organized; Assist with billing, insurance claims and various accounting duties
Qualifications:
- Previous optical experience required
- Sales experience/abilities
- Exceptional communication skills, both in-person and over the phone
- Familiarity with medical terminology and billing/coding
- Proficiency in using EHR systems and medical records
- Ability to work with diverse patient populations, including seniors and pediatric patients
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
