What You’ll Do
As an Estimator, you’ll be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and quotes for our customers while managing your own schedule to ensure timely delivery. You’ll collaborate closely with Sales, Engineering, Drafting, Purchasing, Production, Quality Control, and Shipping to deliver competitive, precise estimates that reflect our high standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce detailed cost estimates and quotes using appropriate software tools.
- Partner with internal teams throughout the product development cycle.
- Analyze customer inquiries and qualify short- and long-term project needs.
- Coordinate with Sales to determine accurate product delivery projections.
- Provide technical assistance to customers via phone and email.
- Maintain accurate records, manage deadlines, and ensure timely quote delivery.
- Facilitate problem-solving across departments to ensure project success.
- Travel occasionally to visit clients and review job specifications.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by the Sales Manager.
What You Bring to the Table
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Analytical and business math skills with the ability to interpret data effectively.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities; comfortable under pressure.
- Professional demeanor and ability to maintain composure in fast-paced or stressful situations.
- Solid relationship-building skills with both internal teams and customers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic spreadsheet setup.
- Understanding of steel fabrication, manufacturing, or related industries preferred.
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- 6-12 months of prior customer service or estimating experience.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
