The Vice President (VP) of Business Development is a key role responsible for executing the organization's strategic business development initiatives. This role is critical in driving revenue growth through strategic sales initiatives, building strong client relationships, and ensuring a seamless onboarding experience for new customers. The ideal candidate is a results-driven sales professional with a passion for consultative selling and a proven track record in B2B environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy Execution: Execute comprehensive sales strategies and outreach campaigns tailored to prospective clients
- New Acquisition: Identify, prospect and actively pursue new relationship opportunities in target segments to drive revenue growth in alignment with Opteon strategic goals.
- Conversion: Utilize a consultative sales approach to understand customer needs and establish a genuine solution to solidify Opteon as the customer’s trusted partner. Lead negotiations, address objections, and close deals efficiently to meet or exceed quota.
- Onboarding: lead the onboarding of new customers through our onboarding process in collaboration with our Onboarding Success Manager to ensure a smooth transition and strong launch
- Performance Metrics: Achieve and exceed KPs such as quota attainment, lead conversion rate, pipeline velocity, and new logo acquisition targets.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the EVP of Growth & Customer Success and collaborate with Opteon support departments to ensure alignment and successful integration of business development strategies across the organization to include marketing initiatives, informing product development insights, and operational excellence.
- Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs, using this information to capitalize on opportunities to expand Opteon’s market presence and achieve revenue targets
- CRM: Maintain accurate records of leads, sales activities, and pipeline progress in Salesforce CRM.

Must-Have Experience:
- 5 years in business development with a proven track record of converting sales efforts to revenue in a performance-driven culture; preferably in the Appraisal, Inspection, or Correspondent lending, or Mortgage Insurance industries.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with a track record of driving revenue growth and customer satisfaction.
- Strong consultative selling, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Results-driven mindset with the ability to work independently with high effort to achieve goals
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
