Job: Lab Service Representative
Location: Detroit, MI
Hours Per Week: 40.00
Schedule: M-F, 8:30am to 5:00pm
Assignment: 13 weeks with potential for extension or hire
Duties:
Helps to identify and meet the needs of laboratory customers. Corresponds by telephone to provide information and resolve problems related to test requests, submission requirements, and result status.
Uses information systems to gather data and track client encounters. Depending on site-specific job duties, may perform specimen collection as a primary duty. Must demonstrate competency, reliability, productivity, and compassion on a sustained basis. Initiates prior authorization process and tracks status in LIS.

Requirements:
- High school graduate or GED. Associates is a plus
- 3-5 years of clinical laboratory experience with a working knowledge of specimen collection, handling, preparation and workflow.
- Customer Service experience
- Technology: MS Office, Epic EMR, Sunquest CoPathPlush (LIS)
- English speaking/writing
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge about the care of the pediatric and adolescent patient.
- Previous home care experience.
- Prior experience in billing
