CAREGIVER- CRANBERRY PARK OF WEST BLOOMFIELD
MIDNIGHT SHIFT: 11PM - 7AM
The caregiver cares for residents under the direction and supervision of the Wellness Director, a registered nurse or a licensed practical/vocational nurse. In accordance with each Resident’s individual comprehensive care plan and assessment. The caregiver provides hands on care for residents in areas where competency has been established. The position requires patience, compassion and a desire to care for the frail elderly in a gentle and empathetic manner.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Answers call lights to determine resident needs.
- Assists residents with grooming, oral hygiene, bathing, hair and incontinence care.
- Obtains food trays and assists residents with feeding.
- Assists residents with range of motion exercises, and movement to wheelchair or activity areas.
- Assists residents with turning and positioning in bed.
- Assists residents with ambulation for short distances in the facility.
- Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration rates, and food and fluid intake and output, as directed.
- Performs other tasks as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Ability to effectively communicate with residents, families, supervisor, employees.
- Willingness to work with the elderly.
- Must be friendly, caring, patient, and a team player
- Must have reliable transportation
- Be able to pass a physical, fingerprint background check, and drug screen
