What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intermodal Dispatcher position at OpSource Staffing?
We are hiring Dispatchers who can use their experience and training to provide the best possible service to customers. The experienced Dispatchers we're looking for will be able to work individually and in a team setting, and will use their organization and attention to detail to keep on top of incoming calls, requests and emails. Successful candidates will also be highly efficient problem-solvers who are excellent at working independently and as part of a team.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for prolonged periods of time. He/she may also be required to stand and/or walk for periods of time while completing other duties and responsibilities. He/she will also be required to talk and/or listen for extended periods of time both on the phone and face to face.
- 1st Shift - Monday through Friday - 8am to 5pm
EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as dispatcher in trucking environment, preferably with Port and Rail experience.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Computer Savvy - with advanced computer skills
- Dependable - attendance is very important!!
- Must be organized and able to manage time effectively.
- Excellent knowledge of the industry and trends impacting the business.
- Understand demurrage / per diem / tire bills
- Ability to effectively communicate, in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Basic math skills are required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
