What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Awake Overnight Direct Care Aide -DDS Med Cert required position at Opportunity House, Inc?
- Opportunity House, Inc. is an agency that provides residential and Day Services to adults on the Autism Spectrum for 46 years.
- Record all data pertaining to overnight shift.
- Remain awake during the overnight shift.
- Responsible for the welfare and safety of the residents during the overnight shift.
- Assist the residents during the night as needed.
- Administer medications to residents per physicians' orders.
- Attend in-service training sessions according to DDS required regulations. Some are in- person and many are conducted on an e-learning platform according to existing regulations.
- Shift schedule is Thursday - Sunday. Thursday & Sunday overnight hours are from 11:00 pm through 9:00 am, Friday and Saturday overnight hours are from 11:00 pm through 7:00 am Weekend shift differential
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma and Connecticut driver’s license is required
- An Associate degree in special education, education, social services, nursing, or any related field preferred
- Department of Developmental Services Medication Administration Certification is required.
- Current PMT, CPR and First Aid certification required.
- At least three years of experience working with or caring for individuals with autism or developmental disabilities preferred.
