The Opportunity:
As their Sales Engineer, you'll bridge the gap between engineering expertise and client technical needs. This role combines technical knowledge with relationship-building skills to identify opportunities, develop solutions, and grow their client base.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships with potential and existing clients in manufacturing industries.
- Translate customer requirements into technical specifications and custom machine solutions.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to develop proposals, cost estimates, and project timelines.
- Conduct product demonstrations and technical presentations to potential clients.
- Provide technical expertise during sales cycles to address client questions and concerns.
- Identify new market opportunities and contribute to company growth strategies.
- Travel to client sites for consultations and relationship management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical field.
- 3 years of experience in technical sales, preferably in custom machinery, automation, or manufacturing equipment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, manufacturing processes, and industrial automation.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Experience with CAD software and ability to interpret technical drawings.
- Problem-solving mindset with a customer-focused approach.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in the Michigan/Midwest manufacturing sector.
- Knowledge of automation, automotive, aerospace, medical device, or food processing industries.
- Background in machine design or manufacturing engineering.
