The Senior Vice President, Investor Relations role is a pivotal leadership position at OFN, responsible for enhancing investor engagement, managing strategic relationships, and diversifying revenue streams. With OFN's annual budget at approximately $35 million, the Development & Capitalization (DevCap) team contributes about one-third through grants and sponsorships, and also secures private credit and equity for investments. While current fundraising relies on institutional partners such as banks, corporations, foundations, and the Federal government, this role aims to expand OFN’s funding base by creating new products for emerging market segments. Key near-term priorities include increasing sponsorship revenue, developing fundraising strategies for new corporate sectors outside banking (such as insurance, technology, and consumer brands), and innovating to grow smaller-dollar fundraising through channels like donor-advised funds (DAFs), financial advisors, and retail markets.

Core responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Chief Development Officer (CDO) and OFN business lines to set strategic fundraising and capital goals, lead funder and investor relationships, and oversee fundraising campaigns.
  • Take direct responsibility for one major business line (Capital, Grant, or Sponsorship), including serving as main contact, executing annual development plans, and identifying new prospects and market opportunities.
  • Develop and lead new Investor Relations engagement strategies, such as onsite “Investor Days,” to strengthen stewardship and mobilize new investor relationships.
  • Ensure timely processing of funding applications and fulfill funder/investor requirements, while coordinating strategy with the CDO and senior executives.
  • Lead the creation and management of funder and investor reports, including reporting for new initiatives and maintaining an investor database to track activity and impact.
  • Develop and implement relationship plans for key funders and investors, working with internal teams to manage these relationships.
  • Conduct research and analysis to support product development and identify new funding opportunities within OFN and the broader industry.
  • Lead efforts to formalize and improve the Development & Capitalization team’s policies, procedures, and systems, including coordinating across OFN teams for greater administrative efficiency.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7-10 years of direct professional experience; Graduate degree a plus.
  • 7 years of direct professional experience in one of two main fundraising domains: relationship-based fundraising from global corporations, institutional philanthropy, family offices or high net worth individuals; or, operational experience with high volume, small dollar technology-enabled fundraising.
  • Experience in relationship management required as well as CRM software.
  • Demonstrated writing experience with a focus on grant or proposal writing preferred.
  • Knowledge of impact investing, community development and sustainability a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Physical Requirements:

  • Must possess a strong passion for, understanding of, and commitment to OFN’s mission, vision, and values. In addition, be a fearless advocate, who is confident and resilient in OFN’s fight to drive capital into low-income communities.
  • A collaborative team player who possesses the interpersonal skills to work across all levels of the organization, humility, and a willingness to learn in all areas of our work. Be a strong team contributor, effective and comfortable in leading as well as supporting roles within teams.
  • Be a smart, quick seeker of knowledge with the ability to think strategically, creatively, and tactically to analyze results and assist in implementing plans for increasing capital to communities we serve.
  • Excellent communication skills in public and private settings both in presentation and written formats with the ability to adapt the message to the needs of constituents.
  • Excellent organizational/time management skills required to independently manage multiple tasks and prioritize work on diverse assignments with strong attention to detail in a fast-paced setting in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Ability to interface with employees at all levels of the organization, both internally and externally.
  • Occasional travel required (10-20% of time).
  • Comfortable working in a midsized nonprofit.
  • Job involves normal physical requirements for an office position.
