We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and implement automated material handling systems. This role spans the full product lifecycle—from concept and design to installation and commissioning. You’ll work on projects ranging from small components to large-scale conveyor systems.

What you will do:
- Design and implement automated material handling systems based on customer specifications.
- Evaluate feasibility of new product integrations with respect to cost and timeline.
- Apply sound engineering practices and leverage vendor relationships to develop innovative solutions.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, including scheduling, coordination, and execution.
- Support Account Managers in technical aspects of business development.
- Create detailed designs, drawings, calculations, and specifications.
- Oversee on-site installations, including debugging, testing, and training.
- Develop and maintain project documentation (e.g., operating procedures, maintenance schedules, spare parts lists).
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues using root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
- 3–5 years of experience with automated machinery (e.g., conveyors, robotics, PLCs)
- Familiarity with systems such as Hytrol, SpanTech, Cognex, and FANUC is a plus
- Strong mechanical design and troubleshooting skills
- Willingness to travel up to 35–40%
- Candidates would be based in our Willowbrook, IL office
