What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Cook - AM Shift: Full-Time Only position at Opportunities?
We are Hiring a Lead Cook!
Shift time - 5 AM to 1 PM weekdays and weekends
Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing meal ingredients by washing, peeling, cutting, and slicing fruits and vegetables, as well as marinating meats.
- Prepare soups, salads, and sauces following the instructions of the head cook.
- Plate and garnish meal items according to the directions provided by the head cook.
- Supervise the work of line cooks to ensure that all assigned tasks are completed promptly.
- Ensure that all cooking stations are adequately stocked with the necessary ingredients and equipment.
- Keep all cooking stations and kitchen surfaces clean and disinfected before and after each shift.
- Adhere to standard food rotation practices to reduce food waste and minimize the risk of contamination.
- Assess the quality of delivered food supplies to ensure they meet restaurant standards. Prepare food of consistent quality following brand recipe cards.
- Proper Documentation on all food containers with adherence to rotations per SOP.
- Practice safety standards at all times.
- Oversee breakfast, banquet, and kitchen production.
- Report to work in full clean uniform on time and ready to serve.
- Cook orders with adherence to guest requests/special needs in a positive manner.
- Be proactive with ordering and pars, food preparations and equipment upkeep to eliminate service obstacles.
