Position Summary
Twin City Die Castings seeks a CMM Programmer to join our Minneapolis plant. The right person will have an advanced knowledge of CMM programming software, equipment, and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing to develop CMM programs & fixturing that ensures efficient and accurate measurements across all manufacturing locations. They will also support the Minneapolis plant by operating the CMM to perform FAI, setup & in-process inspections.
Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks
- Develop and optimize CMM programs and fixtures for product inspection.
- Design and source CMM part holding concepts and fixtures.
- Verify CMM repeatability and reproducibility, supporting MSA activities.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to identify critical features and tooling paths.
- Provide technical CMM support and training for all locations.
- Perform First Article Inspections, capability studies, and MSA studies.
- Conduct setup, in-process, and incoming inspections using CMM.
- Maintain CMM equipment and schedule annual calibrations.
- Lead 5S activities and ensure a clean working environment.
- Follow all environmental, health, and safety rules and procedures.
Education and Experience
- Requires high school diploma or GED. Vocational schools training or associate's degree preferred.
- Requires 3 – 5 years’ experience in programming a major CMM platform
- Experience programming with Zeiss Calypso software is preferred
- Experience with fixed & articulating probing systems is preferred
- Requires advanced knowledge of GD&T; completion of an advanced level GD&T training course is preferred
- ASQ Certified Mechanical Inspector certification is preferred
- CNC machining experience is preferred
