Location: Primarily Remote (with monthly on-site days in Hastings, MI)
Schedule: Full-time | Monday–Friday | 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
About the Role:
The Business Analyst serves as a key connector between the business and IT. You’ll gather and translate user requirements, analyze workflows, and support the development of technology solutions that improve efficiency and decision-making. This role interacts with teams across the organization, including executives, and contributes directly to critical initiatives within Strategy & Execution.
What You’ll Do:
- Partner with project sponsors and stakeholders to define project scope and objectives.
- Conduct interviews, workshops, surveys, and workflow reviews to collect user requirements.
- Analyze business processes and recommend improvements, including automation opportunities.
- Translate user needs into functional specifications that guide developers and project teams.
- Identify impacts of proposed solutions on current systems and coordinate integration activities.
- Prioritize, document, and validate requirements to ensure completeness and consistency.
- Create process models, diagrams, and specifications that support clear understanding.
- Support backlog grooming and sprint planning with business and IT partners.
- Track requirements and defects throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring clarity and follow-through.
- Assist with system testing to support project timelines and solution quality.
- Communicate process changes and enhancements across teams to ensure shared understanding.
- Use data to recommend practical, actionable improvements.
- Engage in ongoing professional development.

What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree or two years of relevant experience required.
- 1–3 years of Business Analyst experience; P&C insurance experience preferred.
- CBAP or CCBA certification preferred (or ability to complete within one year of eligibility).
- Strong ability to create clear, consistent business and technical requirements.
- Knowledge of process mapping, business process reengineering, and SDLC concepts.
- Ability to navigate shifting priorities and timelines with strong analytical skills.
- Excellent listening, communication, and facilitation abilities.
- Demonstrated success in collaborative, team-oriented environments.
- Highly organized, detail-focused, and self-motivated.
- Proficiency with MS Office and Visio; experience with project management tools (e.g., MS Project).
