What are the responsibilities and job description for the Barista position at Opportunities?
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including espresso drinks, teas, and specialty items.
- Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including equipment, counters, and seating areas.
- Operate point-of-sale systems and handle cash and credit transactions accurately.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Restock supplies and ingredients as needed throughout the shift.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth café operations.
- Stay informed about menu items, promotions, and seasonal offerings.
Qualifications:
- Previous barista or food service experience preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a high-volume environment.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Basic math and cash-handling skills.
- Passion for coffee and a desire to learn more about the craft.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive motions.
