Position is a safety-sensitive position under the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Amendment.
PART TIME EVENINGS
- 4pm to 8pm, Mon - Fri
General Description of Duties:
Responsible for providing direct support to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in large groups, small groups and one to one ensuring that each person has access to a meaningful day. Non-exempt position.
Qualifications Required:
- High school graduate or equivalent
Required Skills/Abilities;
- Agency expectation is that you will be proficient in our Therap software and other agency software within 30 days of employment. Excellent typing, writing and spelling skills are required.
- Experience entering client data into a computer program on a daily basis.
- One year of experience working with people who have developmental disabilities.
- Special Education teaching experience and skills a plus.
- Good Communication Skills; Understanding of Developmental Disabilities; Good Interpersonal Skills; Work with limited supervision.
Certifications/Licenses
- CPR/First Aid.
- Annual TB assessment.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Van training.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Be knowledgeable of consumer service delivery relating to group Home and Community Based Waiver Services. (HCBS)
- Assist consumer(s) with self-help activities of daily living in a home setting.
- Assist consumers with the management of behaviors in a professional manner and demonstration of the necessary skills and techniques to intervene effectively.
- Enter required notes daily in Therap software as instructed and maintain required documentation.
- Communicate with Supervisor any consumer needs.
- Participate, when requested, in Person Center Program Plan meeting(s).
- Provide transportation for consumers as necessary.
- Participate in training, in-services, conferences, and seminars as requested.
- Follow directions of supervisor, performing other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- Communication – English speaking
- Sitting for 1-2 hours consecutively
- Driving vehicles
- Standing 3-4 hours consecutively
- Hearing for conversation
- Stooping, kneeling, bending, twisting, crouching
- Lifting up to 50 lbs
- Use of hand, wrist, fingers
- Pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs.
- Vision for driving and reading
- Reaching overhead and in front of body
- Walking for short distances
