As an Employment Specialist, you’ll work side-by-side with clients to help them find, secure, and grow in meaningful employment. You’ll coach, mentor, advocate, and celebrate their wins—big and small.
What You’ll Do
- Partner with clients to explore strengths, interests, and career goals
- Support job searches, applications, resumes, and interview preparation
- Provide hands-on, on-the-job coaching and ongoing support
- Help clients build confidence, independence, and workplace success skills
- Advocate for client needs, including workplace accommodations when appropriate
- Build relationships with local employers and create new opportunities
- Conduct job analyses and ensure strong client-job alignment
- Collaborate with VR Counselors and provide timely progress updates
- Transport clients to job sites and support community integration

What You Bring
Required:
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to transport clients
- Willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid certification within 90 days
- At least 6 months of experience supporting individuals with disabilities
- A passion for coaching, mentoring, or teaching others

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Active role involving walking, standing, and sitting throughout the day
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with client mobility when needed
