What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Tech position at Oppermann Webbing?
Summary: Performs inspection, testing and documentation as required.
This position will be trained on all cross-function tasks inside of the quality department.
Hours: Monday to Thursday 6:30am to 3:30pm & Friday 6:30am to 11:30pm
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs inspection and testing as required for each loom start up, including but not limited to, tensile test, crocking, pick counts, width, including color match.
- Performs inspection and testing as required for each dye lot, including but not limited to, tensile test, crocking, pick counts, width, including color match.
- Record results of test on the Test Report Worksheet or Military Test Certificate as applicable and reports out of specification conditions to Manager for appropriate corrective actions.
- Data entry such as test reports, Military Test data
- Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work environment.
- Reliable attendance is required.
- Use proper safety equipment and follow safety procedures.
- Understand and follow Company Policy, Procedures and Work Instructions.
- Perform other duties as assigned including but not limited to Loom card creation, revision, and waste recording.
- Create customer Certifications as required.
- Assist with ISO preparation and internal audits.
- Collect samples for potential new customers
- Inspect potential off quality material in various departments if requested.
- Assist in other areas within the Quality Department.
- Clean up around work area when job is complete.
- Fill in on other shifts or work overtime as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned by Manager.
Qualifications:
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
- Prefer HS graduate or equivalent. Also, any combination of education and experience is required.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business information, procedures, or regulations is required.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written.
- Ability to deal with problems and issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Knowledge of multiple word processing programs (including use of graphics and digital photography) and spreadsheets.
