Located in Healdsburg, CA, our full-service facility enables us to handle complete trucking needs, including Used and New Truck and Trailer Sales, Used Parts Yard, New Parts Showroom, Repair Shop, Welding Shop, and Body Shop. As an "R"-stamp DOT tank repair/inspection facility, we specialize in fuel tanks and trailers.
This is a hands-on, skilled role focused on repairing and inspecting cargo tanks, various truck body installs, and/or repairs on trucks and trailers (specifically DOT 406 and MC 306 types).
Core Responsibilities
Tank and Trailer Repairs & Inspections:
- Perform VIKP inspections, welded repairs, and pressure tests per DOT regulations.
- Perform comprehensive trailer repairs including axle replacement, electrical wiring diagnostics and rewiring, frame straightening, and structural reinforcement.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues across various trailer types and implement effective solutions to restore full functionality.
- Utilize welding and mechanical skills to repair damaged components and ensure DOT compliance.
- Collaborate with service managers to assess repair needs and prioritize tasks for efficient workflow.
Installation and Welding
- Utilize acetylene and electrical welding equipment to cut, weld, and repair components from ferrous and non-ferrous metals in compliance with cargo tank regulations.
- Apply advanced welding and mechanical skills to install and integrate truck bodies, hook lifts, pump systems, power take-offs (PTOs), and other specialized accessories.
- Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure precise installation and repairs.
- Perform structural repairs and reinforcements to accommodate custom equipment configurations.
- Conduct post-installation inspections and pressure tests to verify integrity and compliance.
Documentation & Communication
- Maintain timecards, parts requisitions, and report additional repair needs.
- Accurate completion of tank testing and certification reports.
Shop Maintenance:
- Keep work areas clean and organized, return tools to proper storage, and follow safety protocols.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (required)
- Minimum 3 years of cargo tank repair experience
- Welding certification
- Must have your own toolbox with tools up to 1”
- Strong communication, computer, and numeracy skills
Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
- Frequent bending, crawling, climbing, and standing
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends
- Exposure to mechanical parts, odors, and airborne particles

Pay: $34.00 - $50.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
