The Shop Technician – Pump Division is responsible for maintaining, repairing, testing, and preparing pump and related equipment within the shop environment. This role ensures equipment is rental-ready, operates safely, and meets company quality and performance standards while supporting overall branch operations.

The Shop Technician – Pump Division is responsible for maintaining, repairing, testing, and preparing pump and related equipment within the shop environment. This role ensures equipment is rental-ready, operates safely, and meets company quality and performance standards while supporting overall branch operations.
Essential Functions
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair pumps, engines, motors, and related fluid transfer equipment in the shop
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and preventative service on pump systems
- Disassemble, clean, repair, reassemble, and test equipment to ensure proper operation
- Conduct pre-rental inspections and post-rental evaluations
- Document all repairs, maintenance, and inspections accurately in work order systems
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working order in accordance with MSHA and OSHA regulations
- Identify and report unsafe tools, equipment, or shop conditions to the Service Manager
- Coordinate with service and rental teams to prioritize repairs and meet customer demands
- Assist with equipment staging and preparation for field deployment as needed
- Follow all company shop procedures, safety standards, and protocols
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Exhibit strong teamwork and support cross-functional shop operations
- Experience working with pumps, diesel engines, or industrial equipment preferred
- Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service mechanical equipment
- Must have own basic tools
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Ability to work flexible shifts as operational needs require
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail

- Primarily shop-based with occasional yard or field exposure
- Regular exposure to diesel engines, pumps, hoses, and mechanical tools
- Noise levels may be high; hearing protection may be required
- Exposure to lubricants, fuels, and other shop-related materials
- Strict adherence to safety protocols and PPE requirements is required
- Must be comfortable working around heavy equipment and moving machinery
- Variable temperatures depending on shop and yard conditions
- Minimal travel required; occasional vendor visits or training may be necessary
- Requires a moderate to high level of physical stamina and mobility
- Frequent lifting, carrying, and maneuvering of equipment and components weighing up to 50 pounds
- Regular bending, squatting, kneeling, crouching, and reaching
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking in shop and yard areas
- Fine motor skills and manual dexterity required for tools, controls, and documentation
- Must safely work around heavy machinery and equipment in operation
