Job Summary:
One of the premier ophthalmology practices in Bala Cynwyd is seeking an energetic, knowledgeable, patient-focused candidate to fill a full-time position as an Ophthalmic Technician.
Responsibilities:
· Assist physicians with clinical flow
· Efficiently and accurately conduct and document chief complaints and patient's reason for visit
· Perform comprehensive ophthalmic workups including visual acuity, manifest refraction, tonometry, and necessary diagnostic testing
· Accurately record pre-testing data into the patient’s electronic health record
· Process electronic prescriptions
· Assist physician with in-office procedures and other treatments
Skills:
· Working knowledge of eye anatomy, disease, symptoms, and ocular medications
. Ability to perform ophthalmic diagnostic testing including applanation tonometry, manifest refractions, visual fields, OCT, topography, and optical biometry
· Knowledge and utilization of the proper sterile technique
· Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with patients, physicians, and co-workers
· Ability to multi-task yet pay attention to detail
· Knowledge of HIPAA regulations
· Knowledge of EMR systems, ModMed experience a plus
Experience:
· One to two years of experience as an ophthalmic technician is highly preferred
· The ability to travel to all locations is required. (Travel is reimbursable)
