The Opportunity
We’re seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Scribe 2 with advanced coding knowledge to support our providers and enhance the patient experience.
In this role, you will document real-time patient encounters, support clinical flow, and perform ophthalmic testing. You are cross-trained across specialties and thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare exam rooms and EMR charts per physician preferences
Accurately document patient-provider interactions in real time
Enter diagnoses, prescriptions, testing, and medication orders
Perform ophthalmic testing and procedures, including:
Visual acuity & auto-refraction
Tonometry
Pupils & dilation
OCT, VF, HRT, B-scan
Pachymetry, corneal topography, keratometry
Administer eye drops/ointments
Audit charts for accuracy and compliance
Educate patients on procedures, medications, and follow-up care
Provide exceptional, white-glove patient service
What You’ll Need
2 years of medical/ophthalmic scribing experience
Advanced knowledge of medical coding
Cross-training across ophthalmology specialties preferred
Strong EMR documentation skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to stay calm and organized in a busy clinic
Knowledge of ocular pharmacology (anesthetics, steroids, antibiotics, mydriatics, cycloplegics, etc.) is a plus
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, sit, and occasionally lift up to 10 lbs.
