Electrical PCB Designer – Continuation Engineering
Position Summary
OPEX Corporation is currently looking for a full-time Electrical PCB Designer to work at our World Headquarters in Moorestown, NJ. As an electrical designer, you will play a vital role in our Incoming and Scanning Division, reporting to the Continuation Engineering Manager. You’ll focus on the lifecycle of our products by updating, maintaining, and documenting existing active and legacy products. Support sustaining engineering by implementing design changes, updating drawings, and ensuring accurate documentation for manufacturing, quality, and supply chain operations.
Essential Responsibilities
- Design and develop printed circuit boards (PCBs) using Altium Designer software. Generate documentation packages for PCB fabrication, DRC and Post-processing.
- Create PCB footprints from manufacturers datasheets and maintain component libraries, Knowledge of IPC Standards for Footprint Creation and Layout process.
- Strong understanding of industry standards for multilayer routing with Microprocessors, FPGA, and mixed-signal designs. Knowledge of high-speed layout techniques is a plus.
- Update and maintain electrical schematics, drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs).
- Implement Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and revisions under the direction of engineers.
- Revise drawings to reflect component substitutions, obsolescence, and design improvements.
- Work closely with engineers, manufacturing, service, and assembly teams as well as outside vendors.
- Effective communication with both internal and external teams is essential.
Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in electrical technology, Drafting, or related field.
- 4 years of experience with PCB design including schematic capture and layout.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, PCB layouts, and wiring diagrams.
- Knowledge of basic electrical principles (AC/DC voltage, current).
- Experience with high-voltage and high-current PCB design a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Must be proficient with Altium Designer software.
- Experience with Oracle, MS Office, Visio, Wireworks software a plus.
- Ability to multi-task and support multiple projects with minimum supervision.
Physical/Work Environments
- Employee will work primarily in an office environment.
- Sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time may be required
- Occasional walking and/or driving between local OPEX facilities may be required.
