Business Analyst 2 – Information Technology – Downtown Columbus, Ohio (Hybrid)

The Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS) is seeking a Business Analyst 2 to join our IT Applications team. In this position you would be essential to the organization, helping to ensure that the vision and functionality oftechnologychanges are properly captured and implemented. You would be the business liaison between ourDevelopmentteam and our end users, facilitating and capturing feedback through the entire application development lifecycle.

What you’ll do

You would be joining a group of professionals who are passionate about solving business problems through innovation and application design best practices. Using your expertise and ability to translate business user needs into technical terms, you would elicit and define system and user requirements through observation, interviews, and analysis. You'll be part of a dedicated, cross-functional agile team, working with the business and stakeholders to refine backlog and prioritize user stories, as well as driving understanding of system, data, and process requirements.

What you’ll bring

• ABachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Computer Science orotherrelatedfield
• At least two years of experience in the following areas: requirements gathering, analysis, and design
• Two or more years of experience with SQL and Excel build-on formulas and functions in data extracting, analysis, processing, and manipulation
• Previouspublic pensions or financial industry experience is strongly preferred.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Visio
• Excellent understanding of the softwaredevelopmentlifecycleand related technologies
• The ability to deep dive into technical concepts and a love of collaboration with both technical and non-technical teams
