Summer Crew Positions are for current Reynolds School District Students and recent Reynolds School District Graduates
Job Title: Groundskeeper (Summer Crew)

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly
Job Summary:
Assists with maintaining landscaping (e.g. lawns, shrubbery, planted areas, irrigation, fences, playgrounds, storm drains, etc.) for the purpose of preserving grounds in a healthy, attractive and safe condition.
Essential Job Functions:
- Prepares and maintains grounds (e.g. ball fields, flower beds, parking lots etc.) for the purpose of providing adequate, attractive and safe areas for assemblies and/or recreational activity.
- Eradicates pests and rodents (e. g. bees, ants, moles, rats) for the purpose of maintaining a safe and attractive environment for grounds and facilities usage.
- Removes garbage from trash containers at athletic fields, playgrounds and other designated sites for the purpose of maintaining a healthy and attractive environment.
- If working during winter months, assists with winterizing equipment and buildings (e. g. drain irrigation lines and hoses, cover vents, etc.) for the purpose of protecting buildings and equipment. Assists Groundskeepers, as directed, with some maintenance, installation and construction work as assigned (e. g. fencing, signage, marking and painting, playground equipment, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining a safe and attractive environment for grounds and facilities usage.
- Assists other groundskeepers as directed for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
- Requests materials, supplies, parts and equipment for the purpose of ensuring that adequate materials are available to complete assignments in a timely manner.
- Transports various items (e.g. equipment, supplies, etc.) as directed for the purpose of providing materials at job sites as required to complete tasks.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
- Walk for prolonged periods, perform strenuous physical labor in all types of weather and work environments, lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling, reaching/handling must be able to lift 50 lbs. regularly and up to 80 lbs. on occasion.
- May be required to work at heights (>20 feet) using ladders, scaffolds and lifts. May be required to work in tight and/or dirty environments.
- May work with various chemical substances and work with a variety of hand and power tools.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- No prior experience needed.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Oregon Fingerprinting and Criminal Background Check clearance
Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Training provided in safe standards in use of equipment.
- Knowledge: methods and use of tools and equipment utilized in grounds maintenance; safe work practices, standards for safe use of equipment.
- Skills: operate both light and heavy equipment and power tools in safe manner
- Abilities: follow written and oral directions and work independently to perform a variety of tasks with minimal supervision, as required

- Session 2: July 20–30 (Monday–Thursday)
