Job Title: Warehouse Specialist
Hourly Rate: $23.78
Position: Warehouse Operations / Forklift
As directed, the Warehouse Specialist performs a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan.
- Perform quarterly inventory and inspection of warehouse stock stored within Bethesda, GDC, and all other annexed storage locations with semiannual audits.
- Manage shelved stock daily to ensure that all materials are adequately labeled and forward faced for ease of identification.
- Sweep floors and dust shelves daily to ensure the cleanliness of Warehouse spaces and stored materials.
- Ensure shelves are stocked, maintained, and organized in accordance with OSHA Regulations 1926.250 (General Requirements for Storage) and 1910.176 (Materials Handling and Storage).
- Record shelf-life data and advise the warehouse manager on shelf-life expirations and reorder quantities.
- Verifying materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents
- Noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages
- Routing materials to prescribed storage locations.
- Storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods, rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials
- Examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage
- Removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment.
- Unload materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stack them to assigned places.
- Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment.
- Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies.
Other duties include:
- To ensure prompt deliveries, make short and efficient routes using both GPS and traditional maps.
- Drive van on predefined routes according to priority lists.
- Offload furniture at sites and give consumers instructions on how to put it together.
- Perform quality control checks on incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Ensure accurate order fulfillment and timely delivery of products.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisor to maintain inventory accuracy and organization.
- Utilize RF scanner to track inventory movements and update system records.
- Operate heavy equipment, such as forklifts, to safely transport materials within the warehouse.
- Assist with picking, packing, and labeling of orders.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Three years prior experience working in a distribution center or warehouse environment.
- Proficiency in using RF scanners for inventory management.
- Valid forklift certification and experience operating heavy equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform quality control checks.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as required for materials handling.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Certifications and Minimum License Qualifications:
Must possess and maintain a valid Class “C” Driver’s License
Valid Forklift Certification
Must have the ability to pass a Local Background check.
- Good Driving Record, with no more than two moving violations or DUIs in the past five years. Compliance includes, but is not limited to, random drug testing, post-accident drug testing, and driver records.
