Custodian (Part-Time) 2nd Shift

Position:  Custodian (Part-Time) 2nd Shift

Location:  District Wide

Reports To:  Operations Supervisor

Schedule:  28.75 Hours per week. Flexible schedule options are available.

Hourly Wage:  $17.83 or more dependent on experience

Position Summary

Provides custodial services at assigned site(s); ensuring an attractive, sanitary and safe environment for students, staff and visitors; performing a variety of special cleaning operations; and assisting in preparing facilities for classroom activities and building events. 

Essential Functions Including But Not Limited To

• Clean, dust, and wipe furniture; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors; empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers; replace light bulbs; refill restroom dispensers, wash windows 
• Clean and sanitize restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedures
• Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies. Use as directed 
• May set up and tear down facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, events, etc. 
• May strip, clean, buff and apply floor sealer and floor finish to hard surface floors, vacuum and shampoo carpets
• Responsible for grounds cleanup and snow removal as necessary
• Helps to maintain building and door security
• Create positive relationships with students, staff members, and all building stakeholders
• Other duties assigned by the building administrator or Operations Supervisor

Employment Qualifications

• EDUCATION: High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) 

• EXPERIENCE: Preferred but not required; Working knowledge of custodial work, including cleaning methods and materials and the use of custodial equipment equivalent to that gained in at least one year of experience or a combination of education and experience
• Previous experience working in a sanitation, custodial or maintenance position preferred, but not required
• SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to bend, twist, stoop, reach and kneel
• Ability to work at heights, ascend and descend ladders
• Ability  to communicate  so  others  will  be able  to clearly understand  normal conversation
• Ability to hear and understand speech
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 75 pounds
