What are the responsibilities and job description for the Volunteer: 4-Week Social Media Plan, Copywriting, and Recommendations for the Future position at Operation Meraki?
This is a volunteer opportunity provided by Taproot Foundation, a nonprofit creating social change through pro bono connections.
We are looking for a skilled copywriter to help Operation Meraki build a compelling, consistent social media presence. Your expertise will help us share inspiring stories of veteran transitions, highlight our urban agriculture initiatives, and drive community engagement. Keeping the 2 to 5 hours per week commitment in mind, we would love your assistance with the following tasks: - Drafting 3 to 5 engaging posts per week tailored for LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram, and tiktok - Developing a simple 4-week content calendar to organize our core messaging themes. - Writing clear calls-to-action to support our grant-funded projects, fundraising campaigns, and volunteer recruitment. - Refining our existing drafted content to ensure an impactful and unified brand voice.
Operation Meraki is dedicated to helping veterans successfully transition to civilian life through community development, urban agriculture, and holistic support. To reach the veterans who need us most and the donors who make our work possible, we need a strong, resonant digital voice. By crafting compelling social media copy, you will directly increase our visibility and community engagement. Your words will help us recruit local volunteers, secure vital funding, and ultimately empower more veterans to thrive in their post-service lives. As the Executive Director, I will be your direct partner and sounding board, ensuring you receive prompt feedback and clear direction. Our team has full internal buy-in and a social media scheduling tool ready to go. The copy you write will be implemented immediately in our active outreach campaigns, ensuring your work has a visible, day-one impact on our organization.
