Position summary:

The Surgeon's Assistant works under the direct supervision of the surgeon. The SAs must be knowledgeable in surgical anatomy and physiology, operative technique relative to surgical procedure and principals of asespis and infection control. Maintains clinical competence in the pre-op assessment and intraoperative proficient as a First Assistant. He/She is responsible for patient prep and operation during the surgical procedure.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Graduate of an accredited program in PA/SA or International Medical Graduate.

Required length and type of experience:-
Three (3) years previous experience as a Surgical Assistant (SA).
