Registered Nurse First Assistant
Full-Time Benefit Eligible
Schedule: 2:30p-11:00p, 40 hours/week; on call and holiday rotation

GENERAL SUMMARY:
- Deliver professional nursing care in the operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures.
- Perform scrub functions including the selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during procedure.
- Perform circulating functions including monitoring, recording and communicating patient condition and managing overall nursing care of patient before, during and after procedure.
- Directly assist operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing and wound exposure as well as patient positioning.
- Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use.
EDUCATION/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:
- Obtain and maintain BLS certification on completion of hospital orientation required.
- Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license at time of hire/transfer date required.
- Graduate from an accredit School of Nursing at time of hire/transfer date.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Growth and Development over life span for all ages required.
- Ability to manage multiple high-tech equipment /information devices simultaneously required.
- Must be able to take on-call shift.
- Must be able to flex.
- Must have minimum of two (2) years OR experience required.
Preferences:
- Current CNOR certification desired preferred.
