Duties
- Operate cash registers efficiently, accurately processing sales transactions and handling cash, credit cards, and other payment methods
- Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries
- Conduct product demos to showcase features and benefits, encouraging customers to explore additional items through upselling techniques
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the checkout area, restocking supplies as needed
- Manage stock levels at the register station, assist with stocking shelves during slower periods, and support overall merchandising efforts
- Handle cash drawer balancing at shift start and end, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded
- Demonstrate strong phone etiquette when answering inquiries or providing assistance remotely
Skills
- Proficiency in POS (Point of Sale) systems and cash register operations with a focus on accuracy and efficiency
- Previous supervising experience in retail or customer service environments is a plus
- Ability to perform retail math confidently for transactions, discounts, and returns
- Excellent communication skills in both bilingual settings (if applicable) and with diverse customer groups
