Salary : $20.00 Per hour
Job Summary : The Maintenance Worker is responsible for the upkeep and repair of the church building and its offices, ensuring a safe, clean, and functional environment. This role includes routine maintenance tasks, emergency repairs, and coordination with church volunteers for special projects.
Key Responsibilities :
General Maintenance :
Inspect and maintain lighting systems, replace bulbs and ballasts as needed.
Check and repair plumbing systems in bathrooms and kitchens.
Maintain HVAC systems, ensuring filters and grills are clean.
Perform minor carpentry, electrical, and painting tasks.
Building and Grounds Upkeep :
Regularly inspect the building structure for defects and perform necessary repairs
Ensure the parking lot is clean and free of debris.
Safety and Compliance :
Check all exit signs and emergency lights for proper operation.
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations.
Report major repair needs to the Board of Trustees promptly.
Coordination and Communication :
Collaborate with church volunteers on special maintenance projects.
Communicate effectively with the Senior Pastor and Board of Trustees regarding maintenance issues and needs.
Qualifications :
Proven experience in maintenance work, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and landscaping.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work on ladders.
Basic tools for carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and landscaping tasks.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Familiarity with the churchs mission, values, and theology is preferred.
Working Conditions :
Full-time position with availability during core operating hours and occasional weekends.
Work both indoors and outdoors, sometimes in varying weather conditions.
