Offsite Improvements Lead, Superintelligence Infrastructure - Stargate

About the Team:

OpenAI, in close collaboration with our capital partners, is embarking on a journey to build the world's most advanced AI infrastructure ecosystem. The Stargate team is central to this mission, setting the core infra strategy and implementing this vision. From site selection to the buildout process, this team sits at the intersection of commercial, technical, strategy, and operations, interacting with teams and executives inside and outside of OpenAI.

About the Role
Own all offsite infrastructure scopes critical to site development: roads, intersections, drainage, utility corridors, and easements. You will negotiate with jurisdictions and agencies to ensure improvements are delivered on time and aligned with data center schedules.

Responsibilities

• Secure easements and ROW for power, fiber, and water.

• Lead traffic studies, rail crossings, and stormwater conveyance tie-ins.

• Negotiate cost-sharing and developer agreements with DOTs and municipalities.

• Manage design consultants and contractors delivering offsite infrastructure.

• Ensure offsite improvements align with data center construction critical path.

• Create playbooks for scalable offsite infrastructure delivery.

Qualifications

• 8 years in civil engineering, transportation, or land development.

• Strong knowledge of ROW law, permitting, and municipal agreements.

• Experience coordinating with DOTs, utilities, and jurisdictions.

• Project management expertise across multiple concurrent scopes.

Compensation Range: $230K - $355K
