Position Title: Project Manager – Walmart Retail Operations
Department: Project Management / Retail Operations
Reports To: Senior Manager or Director of Project Management
Position Summary
The Project Manager, Walmart Retail Operations, is a specialized role responsible for overseeing and coordinating operational execution within Walmart and Sam’s Club systems. This position ensures accuracy, readiness, and continuity across item setup, content management, replenishment health, service performance, and retail launches. The role owns key operational processes, trackers, dashboards, and standard operating procedures, and works cross-functionally to prevent execution gaps and support reliable retail performance within Walmart’s ecosystem.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage item setup, maintenance, and accuracy across Walmart systems including Item360, QMS, NOVA, and Scintilla/Charter
- Ensure content health accuracy across product data, attributes, and system requirements
- Monitor replenishment signals and inventory health to support in-stock performance
- Track OTIF, service KPIs, and operational performance metrics
- Support operational readiness for product launches, promotions, and assortment changes
- Own and maintain operational trackers, dashboards, and standard operating procedures
- Coordinate cross-functional communication with sales, category management, supply chain, demand planning, finance, and eCommerce teams
- Identify execution risks, gaps, or breakdowns and proactively escalate and resolve issues
- Partner with Walmart merchant teams to support accurate and timely execution
- Drive consistency, accountability, and process discipline across Walmart retail operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent relevant experience
- Experience supporting retail operations, item setup, or account execution within Walmart or similar large-scale retailers preferred
- Strong organizational, analytical, and process-management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with dashboards, trackers, and operational reporting
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams and external partners
Physical and Work Requirements
- Office-based role
- Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods
- Occasional extended hours may be required during launches or peak operational periods
