Corporate Counsel

Open Opportunities
Chicago, IL Full Time
POSTED ON 6/8/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 8/8/2026

The Company:

Czarnowski is one of the four studios of the Czarnowski Collective. It combines operations, strategy, design, and fabrication to create exhibits and events that engage communities, generate brand enthusiasm, and educate consumers. It’s been over 75 years since we opened our doors, but we’re still not resting on our reputation or accolades. We’re wondering “what if...” anticipating what’s next and embracing our role within the Czarnowski Collective as forward-thinkers for forward-thinking brands.

Joining the Czarnowski Collective means the opportunity to be more than a number, more than a job title, more than a spectator. We are a collective of dreamers and thinkers, doers, and makers…and we’re searching for more of the same to join the ranks.

The Purpose:

The Czarnowski Collective is growing, and we are seeking a Corporate Counsel to support our expanding business! In this role you will have a primary focus on commercial contracts. You will partner closely with internal stakeholders, including members of our legal, procurement, operations and sales teams, to draft, review and negotiate agreements while balancing business objectives and risk. In addition, you will play a key role in enabling the business to move quickly and confidently as we expand our relationships with a wide range of customers and vendors.

The Job:

  • Review, redline, and negotiate a high volume of commercial agreements, including client services agreements, restrictive covenant and confidentiality agreements, vendor and subcontractor agreements, venue agreements, and employment agreements
  • Support the Legal Team in managing day-to-day contract workflow and turnaround
  • Partner with Sales and Account teams to provide practical, business-oriented guidance on contract terms and risk
  • Identify and flag legal and contractual risks and propose solutions that align with business objectives
  • Gain familiarity with internal and external insurance standards, and assist in identifying, formulating and addressing coverage obligations
  • Apply and help maintain standard contract templates, playbooks, and fallback positions to ensure consistency and efficiency
  • Assist with contract-related disputes and issues as they arise
  • Help further develop and maintain a contract repository for managing contractual renewals and deadlines
  • Assist with drafting responses to and maintaining compliance with client and other third party onboarding surveys and assessments
  • Escalate complex or non-standard matters to the Assistant General Counsel or CLO as appropriate

The Person:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing
  •  2–5 years of relevant legal experience, with a strong focus on commercial contract review and negotiation
  •  Comfortable managing a high volume of contracts with varying complexity and tight turnaround times
  •  Experience in construction, fabrication, experiential marketing, events, or related fields is a plus
  •  Practical, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  •  Clear and concise communicator who can translate legal concepts for non-legal stakeholders

The salary range displayed is specifically for those potential hires who will work or reside in the state of Illinois if selected for the role. Any salary offered is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data/ranges, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience.
