We are seeking an experienced Director of Accounting and proven people leader to oversee the company’s accounting function. This role is responsible for all accounting operations and financial reporting, while also supporting budgeting, annual audits, and tax compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leads process to ensure financial reporting complies with GAAP
- Establishes processes to ensure revenue recognition is completed timely and accurately for existing and new company products
- Prepares monthly financial reports to assist the company in reviewing financial results
- Ensures that the company’s technology captures the information needed to promptly prepare financial reporting and balance sheet account verification
- Supervises the accounts payable process, customer invoicing, merchant card processing and customer chargeback reconciliation process
- Supports the annual audit process by preparing schedules and reviewing accounts for accuracy
- Assists other managers with preparing reports needed to operate the business
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of budgets, operational and cash flow projections
- Special projects as needed
- Other fiscal related matters as required by the needs of the company, maintaining the fiscal integrity requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA strongly preferred
- 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills
- High attention to detail with excellent organizational capabilities
- Advanced proficiency with financial analysis and accounting software
- Strategic and creative thinker with a track record of implementing innovative solutions
- Ability to develop and communicate objective, data-driven budget recommendations across departments
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, typically in a cubicle environment (constant noise, fluorescent overhead lighting)
